A recent survey by Manheim Auctions once more highlights the effect that factory-fitted options can have on a car's resale value. Manheim asked nearly 100 of its top used car buyers for their opinions on the effect of various optional extras on family cars, compact executives and full-sized executives. The results showed a similar trend in all three categories, with leather upholstery and satellite navigation having the most beneficial effects on residuals. The right paintwork was also considered important, with some respondents saying they wouldn't even bid on a car at auction if the colour was wrong, and especially if it was solid rather than metallic. In approximate order of importance, the other main influences on resale prices were climate control, a sunroof and a DVD/TV system.
WWA Group Reports on Record Dubai Auction
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WWA Group, Inc. (OTCBB:WWAG) today announced the successful conclusion of the most recent auction held at WWA Group's Dubai facility during the period April 10 to April 12, 2007. Gross auction sales exceeded US$20.5 million and involved more than 445 registered bidders from 29 countries. Equipment consigned by 163 consignors from 23 countries, comprised of over 1,350 items, was sold to 223 successful bidders. School Board Bids to Take Over Head Start
When it became apparent that Polk County Opportunity Council (PCOC) was going under, many wondered what would happen to the Head Start pre-kindergarten program. At a Tiger Bay Club meeting about the problems PCOC was facing, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gail McKinzie was asked whether she was interested in taking over the Head Start program. With no hesitation, she said that she was very interested. On Tuesday, the school board voted 5-1 to put in a bid to run Head Start. Board Member Tim Harris said that the program to increase readiness of 3- and 4-year-olds provides a benefit to the school district because those children will soon be its responsibility. Public school officials know exactly what those children need to be ready for when they advance to kindergarten, he said.
Shop donates quilts for breast cancer awareness
DES MOINES - On Saturday, Sept. 30 all across the country more than 1,000 quilt shops held Quilt Pink events attracting many thousands of quilters and their friends.
